Ambassador Mohamed Shaker is currently the chairman of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs- an Egyptian platform that represents the Egyptian civil society and contributes its expertise in the discussion of issues and spread public awareness on it; he is also the chairman of the Sawiris Foundation for social development.
Ambassador Shaker had led prominent roles during his career, he was the Egyptian Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 1988 till 1997, and he also served as the Egyptian Ambassador to Austria. He was also the Egyptian permanent delegate to the United Nations in Vienna. And was a member of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Ambassador Shaker holds a bachelor degree in Law from Cairo University and a Doctoral degree in Political Science from the higher institute of international studies at the University of Geneva in 1975.
